Our Adult Faith Formation class will begin again on the first Sunday in September – 9/6/2026 – at 11:00am, and last about an hour.

The class will continue on the first Sundays for the next seven months.

This year the study will focus on the “Our Father”, the prayer Jesus prayed, and the first prayer Jesus taught His disciples.

Each session will start with a DVD from EWTN, followed by a discussion of each of the seven petitions found in the prayer.

If the LORD’S Prayer is something you would like to recite with more thought or understanding, make plans to stay after Mass on the first Sunday of the month.

October 4th Class - "HALLOWED BE THY NAME"

"I have called you by name, you are mine" (Isaiah 43:1).

These are powerful words. Our name speaks of identity and belonging. When we are called by name, we are drawn out of anonymity and into relationship with another. To be named is to be known and loved.

The Gospels repeatedly reveal the significance of being called by name. Christ bestowed the apostle Simon with the name of Peter when He entrusted Peter with the mission of being the rock of the Church. Jesus called Mary Magdalene by name on the morning of the Resurrection, and her heart leapt with love and joy at the sound of her name.

Jesus says in John 10:3: “The sheep hear the shepherd’s voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them.” This profound image reminds us that Christ, the Good Shepherd, knows each of His followers personally: “I know my sheep and mine know me” (John 10:14).

If the names of God's creatures are so precious, how much more so is the name of Jesus, the Lord of creation. When we call upon His name, we invoke not only a person but the saving power of God Himself. For this reason, the Holy Name of Jesus, which means "God saves," has long been spoken as a prayer and a defense. In moments of fear, temptation, sorrow, and darkness, Christians have called upon the name of Jesus, the One whose name communicates the grace it signifies.
